How To Choose A Mover
1.Get a written estimate from several movers.
The estimate should contain an accurate estimate of the items to be moved. Make                  sure to let the estimator see all areas including garages, closets and storage sheds.               Also let the estimator know if there will be extra stops pick up additional items or drop-            offs. Since most long distance movers use a tractor trailer, find out if a tractor trailer                will fit at both locations. Movers will charge extra if they have to use a smaller truck to             load or unload your items and it is better to know these charges ahead of time. Magic             Movers uses straight trucks, so that does not happen very often for us.
2.Make sure the mover has insurance and is licensed by the proper authority.
Movers are required to have a U.S. DOT number issued by the FMCSA if they move                from state to state. You can double-check a mover's license  www.protectyourmove.gov          Most states and some local areas have certain requirements. Magic Movers DOT # is             1073490 and our Florida Registration # is IM209.
3.Remember your priorities when choosing a mover.
If you take the cheapest price you get, you may not be getting the best deal in the                  end. Some movers will give you a cheap price and then when it comes time to pay the            bill the price has changed drastically. Always remember that all movers are required                by law to deliver your goods for no more than ten percent above the price of a non-                  binding estimate. This is the 110 percent rule. If you have offered to pay the mover 110            percent of the Bill of Lading and they still refuse to deliver your furniture, Call 1-888-                 DOT-SAFT (1-888-368-7238).
4.Do your homework.
Check with the Better Business Bureau and check to see that your mover is a                        Promover listed with the American Moving and Storage. Magic Movers has an A+                    ranking with the BBB and is a Promover  with AMSA. Ask your friends, relatives, and              other acquaintances who they used. Finally, read your Rights   and Responsibilities                When You Move All movers are required to to give out this booklet.
5.Ask your movers any question you feel pertains to your move.
Remember, its your furniture they are moving. If the mover cannot answer the question            or refer you to someone who can, maybe you need to take a second look at there                   estimate. Also, make sure the mover you are hiring is the mover and not a broker.                   Some movers sub out there moves to other movers and that mover may not honor that             contract.
