Q: Which is better, an hourly price or a guaranteed price?
A: Both have their advantages. When we bid jobs on a guaranteed price, we try to stick to the services listed on the Order For Service as we have allowed just enough time for this. Small apartment moves and small 3 bedroom houses or smaller are generally better with an exact price. Hourly jobs are the way to go for larger residences as it is harder to remember everything you have. We can also spend more time helping you rearrange furniture.
Q: Can Magic Movers come out and give me an onsite estimate?
A: We can come out and give an estimate but we generally try to do it over the phone so we can keep our costs down. If we keep our costs down, we can keep your price down. We have many questions that will give us an idea of what it will take to complete your move and give you an accurate estimate. We will come out for all 3 bedroom houses and larger or if there is something you have that we feel needs to be seen in person
Q: What kind of payment is accepted for my local move?
A: We accept cash, certified checks, bank checks, or money orders. We accept Visa, MasterCard and local checks with prior approval.
Q: Can I select a specific day for pickup of my belongings?
A: We are able to guarantee most pickup dates, depending on availability. To ensure that we are available on your preferred pickup date, we recommend beginning the planning process with as much lead time as possible. Contacting Magic Movers 3-5 weeks prior to your move is ideal.
Q: Can my move be completed in one day?
A: Most moves can be completed in one day unless packing is requested.
Q: How do I best pack my possessions to remain secure on a local move?
A: There are a number of options to prepare your possessions for a safe journey. You may opt to have our crews professionally pack all or some of your goods; or may choose to pack your own items. If you decide to pack on your own, we offer a number of resources to assist you, including a Do It Yourself Guide, and we sell our packing materials.
Q: Can I leave items in my dresser or desk drawers?
A: We actually suggest leaving items in dresser drawers that are light like clothing as that will save on boxes. Please don’t leave books and other heavy items in the drawers. All desk drawers, latteral file cabinets, and the top 2 drawers of 4 drawer file cabinets must be emptied.
Q: Can I use bags to pack items?
A: We will not move bags since bags can rip and tear.
Q: Do my boxes need to be sealed?
A: All boxes should be sealed as this ,makes it easier to dolly boxes.
Q: I've got possessions I want treated with extra-special care. How can I guarantee this?
A: On local moves, you should consider moving jewelry, artwork, pictures and other small valuables yourself in your vehicle. As for larger valuables, let your salesman know about these so that he can have the moving crew prepare for these items. You should feel confident that your movers will pay special attention to any items you have designated as having high monetary or sentimental value.
Q: Does my flatscreen tv need to be boxed?
A: Magic Movers will not move a flatscreen unless it is properly boxed. We rent and sell flat screen boxes. Ask your salesman for more details.
Q: Will Magic Movers move me during inclement weather?
A: If possible, we will reschedule your move, however we are prepared to move during rain, sleet, or snow if need be. We will arrive with supplies to keep your belongings safe from the elements.
